Discover Ukraine: Modern Ukrainian music: what you can listen

Topic about Ukrainian music is very popular and finally I decided to give you list of Ukrainian singers and musicians, that you can listen them. If you are interested just in list of musicians, you can move to my list of singers, because now I'm going to tell a little about some Ukrainian singers.
Of course in Ukraine like in any other countries there are a lot of different types of music. I'll try to tell about most of them, and you can choose music according to your likes. Because tell about all singers is impossible, you understand. They appears every day.

I start of course from Ukrainian pop music - it's the most widespread music, which has some Ukrainian features.

Ukrainian pop music

ТІК - pretty popular Ukrainian band from Vinnytsya, with songs in Ukrainian language. They have funy music, sometimes it's kind of wegging, national style, and sometimes just pop music with deep sense.

ДЗІДЗЬО - dzidzio means grandpa in ukrainian carpathian language. This Lviv band is very popular, especially teenagers love them. They are popular not just because of funny music with very funny sense, but also because of their into video to every song. It's so so fuuny, and phrases from their videos become very widespread. Dzidzio according to legend lives in village with his 2 friend, and his mom is earning money in Italia, as 10 million of other Ukrainian woman. Typical story. All their songs is in Ukrainian language.

Ruslana - great Ukrainian singer from Lviv. She is not only singer, but took very active part in Ukrainian social life. She become famous in Europe and maybe word, when she won in 2004 Eurovision - european songs competition. ALl her music is in Ukrainian language and have some Carpathian features. So if you want to know what is Carpathians - listen her music and look at her movies.

Lama - Ukrainian pop-rock band. All their music is very dynamic and only in Ukrainian language.

Gaitana - afro-ukrainian singer from Kyiv. Her father is from Kongo, but she lives in Ukraine. She has mostly all music in Ukrainian language, some are in Russian and some in English.

Jamala - Ukrainian and Crimea-tatar singer. She is from Crimea and she is super singer and have marvellous voice. Also she has very expressive image and look. Her songs is jazz, blues, pop and opera style. She sing in Ukrainian, Russian and English.

Tina Karol - beautiful girl with awesome voice. She has songs in Ukrainian and in Russian langauge. Also some of them have English.

Potap and Nastya Kamenskih - popular duet, they have songs in hip hop and R&B style. Most their songs are in Russian language, but music is pretty interesting.

Kazaky - popular ukrainian synthpop band. Especially girls love them. The most fun things, that it's boys band, but they dance on high heels. They are normal, they are just dancers. Very good dancers. Also you can see this boys of Kazaky band in Madonna's movie "Girl Gone Wild". Their songs mostly is in English.

Bumbox - ukrainian hip hop and funky groov band. Created in 2004, and very popular in Ukraine. They have songs in Ukrainian and Russian language.

Oleksandr Ponomaryov - he was very popular in past, now I think he miss his popularity a little, but he is from Khmelnitsky, from my city and he is composer and singer. He has so awesome voice, so I think, if you love romantic music or you are Ukrainian and understand Ukrainian language, you will love his songs. Most of them are in Ukrainian language.

Ukrainian rock music

Океан Ельзи (Okean Elzy) - crazy popular Ukrainian rock band from Lviv. They are popular for 20 years. Their music is with very deep sense, that's why Ukrainian love it. You can hear their music everywhere in Ukraine: in metro, in shops, in restaurants and even in bathroom. All their songs is in Ukrainian.

ВВ (Воплі Відоплясова) - popular Ukrainian rock band, which was created in 1986 year. So they mostly are 30 years old. In the beginning of 90th their band travelled in Europe, when poeple loved their slavic tunes. Especially they was popular in France, so they lived there till 1996. VV sing in very special style, but their music still interesting even after 30 years. All their songs is in Ukrainian language.

Skryabin - ukrainian pop-rock band. Very old, from 1989 year and very popular. Unfortunately their leader died because of car accident this winter, so I even don't know what will be their future. All Ukraine was in sorrow because of his death. But anyway, their music is alive, so you can listen it.
All their music is in Ukrainian language and it has very deep sense in words.

Druga rika - Ukrainian rock band since 1996 year created in Zhytomyr. Their songs is in Ukrainian language and they are pretty popular in Ukraine.

Tartak - popular Ukrainian band in rap-rock, pank-rock style, which exsist since 1996 - for 20 years. Now they become very partiotic and spend most time in war area and related territory - sing for that people and try to do their best. All their songs is in Ukrainian language.

С.К.А.Й. - ukrainian rock band of alternative rock. They was created in 2001 in Ternopil. Their songs are very popular, all of them are in Ukrainian language.

Motor'rolla - ukrainian rock band from Khmelnitsky, my city in 1994. I love their music and some of their songs are very popular in Ukraine. All their songs is in Ukrainian language.
